Crown Managers Partnership (CMP)

🌐
📍 MT, United States

A voluntary collaboration among federal, state, provincial, Tribal, and First Nation agency managers and universities spanning Montana, Alberta, and British Columbia. The partnership works across jurisdictional boundaries to address shared ecological challenges in the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, recognizing that no single agency has the mandate or resources to independently address the region's environmental concerns.

Bioregional Context

The Crown of the Continent Ecosystem spans approximately 18 million acres across the USA-Canada border, encompassing the shared Rocky Mountain region where Montana, Alberta, and British Columbia meet. This bioregion is characterized by rugged mountains, glaciers, diverse forests, and headwaters for three major continental river systems. The area supports diverse wildlife populations including grizzly bears, wolves, and wolverines.
