Fundación Barichara Regenerativa aims to regenerate the regional climate system of the Northern Andes through cultural regeneration, watershed restoration, regenerative agriculture, and economic development using traditional knowledge.
Bioregional Context
Located in the Santander department of northeastern Colombia, the Barichara region lies within the Northern Andes, a transitional zone between highland cloud forests and drier tropical ecosystems. This area is shaped by steep topography, seasonal water scarcity, and increasing vulnerability to climate change. Barichara is also a cultural heritage site, known for its colonial architecture and deep-rooted campesino traditions.
