Puget Sound Partnership
🌐A state-led initiative in Washington dedicated to the long-term recovery of the Puget Sound ecosystem. Through its evolving Action Agenda, the Partnership outlines strategies and near-term actions to restore water quality, habitat, species health, and human well-being. The Partnership uses a science-based approach and tracks progress through its Vital Signs indicators, while also seeking public input to shape direction and improve accountability over time.
Bioregional Context
Puget Sound is a large estuarine system in northwestern Washington State, encompassing over 2,500 miles of coastline and a watershed that spans 12 counties. Home to more than 4 million people, it is a region of complex ecological, cultural, and economic significance. The Sound includes critical habitat for salmon, orcas, shellfish, and seabirds, as well as culturally important lands and waters stewarded by Coast Salish Tribes since time immemorial.
